James Bayley Goodson
1953-2025

August 21, 2025 - The Tallahassee Numismatic Club is heartbroken to announce the loss of one of our longest-tenured members. James Bayley Goodson, known to club members as "Jamie", left this world on August 15, 2025 at age 71 to join that great coin collecting community in the sky. Jamie was a very familar face to our membership as he rarely missed a coin club meeting, and he was practically a fixture at every coin show. As the president of the club, I will personally remember him for his in-depth knowledge of early copper (Jamie was an EAC member, as am I), as well as his interests in some of the more esoteric aspects of collecting. For example, he once found a Henning nickel in change and shared that story at a past meeting, and he was also always on the lookout for any numismatic item that might feature a lion. Jamie was also a longtime member of the Rose City Coin Club (Thomasville). A memorial service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church of Tallahassee on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 1:00pm. We fondly remember and already miss our esteemed club member.
