About Us [much more]
The Tallahassee Coin Club (officially registered as the Tallahassee Numismatic Club - TNC for short) is the largest coin club within the entire north Florida / south Georgia geographical region. To our knowledge, the nearest comparable clubs are as far away as Albany, Warner Robins and Byron, GA (north), Jacksonville (east), Ocala (south) and Panama City (west). We meet on the second Wednesday of each month, 6pm - 8pm, at the Tallahassee Senior Center, 1400 North Monroe on the ground floor. Beginners, as well as seasoned and astute collectors and dealers, attend each month to discuss numismatic-related pursuits - coins, paper money, tokens, exonumia, and sound money legislation. During our meetings, we buy, sell, trade, auction and share numismatic material and education between ourselves to further our enjoyment of the hobby.Originally called the Capital City Coin Club (organized in 1968), the current iteration of the club is always seeking new members. You are invited to attend any meeting at no cost to determine whether we are a good fit for you. Thereafter, annual dues are only $15 per family, payable in January. (NOTE: dues will likely increase to $25 Jan 2026.)
Tallahassee Coin Club is a member of the ANA and FUN, and currently offers a couple of two-day coin shows per year, in mid March and late July. Our Constitution and Bylaws provide full guidance on operations for the Tallahassee Coin Club. TNC does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, gender expression, political affiliation, age, national origin, or disability.

Dear James and Tallahassee Numismatic Club,
I made it to two weeks of radiation and chemo therapy! I am shocked by the number of cancer patients at the hospital here. There are 3 machines that deliver radiation. In a day each machine services 40 to 50 patients. My plan is for 5 weeks (Monday through Friday), but others are 7 weeks and more. There is a Waiting List for these machines. I am so fortunate to be taking the radiation and not waiting on the list. I wear the chemo in a small pocketbook around my neck, 24 hours a day for 3 more weeks. It is hoped that radiation will shrink the cancer and the chemotherapy will kill it.
I am still walking my mile each day with Larry. Have a diminished appetite and am always exhausted after the radiation, but still taking each day as it comes.
Missing the coin group and all I learn each time I attend.
Let's all take a moment to send best wishes to Marti for the most rapid and full recovery possible!
Meanwhile, for today's meeting, SILVER has been up up up, then down, then up, then down down, then . . . you tell me! Bring an awesome silver coin item, or silver-based collection for Show'n'Tell if you'd like.

Coin Certification
The most important aspects of getting a coin certified are first, to ensure that it is genuine, followed by professional assessment of the coin's grade. Certification also offers excellent physical protection for valuable coins. Tallahassee Numsimatic Club recommends NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) above all other grading services. Not only is their grading top-notch in our experience, but NGC has been a great supporter of the numismatic community for decades, and in particular, they have kindly rendered beneficial services to our club, both in the past up through today. This link is a great way to begin exploring what NGC has to offer. The ONLY other coin certification companies we recommend include PCGS and ANACS, and we also recognize ICG as a viable alternative to "the big three". CAC is the newest grading company that can also be recommended. ALL OTHER GRADING SERVICES must be used with caution, in our opinion. Experience shows that none of them holds up to the consistent standards of the five mentioned.
Other Clubs and Shows
Begin with this link on CoinZip to search for other coin clubs all over the United States. Here is an additional link to help find coin shows nationwide, although, of course in Florida, The FUN Show that happens twice a year is indisputably one of the very top coin shows in the entire country.

Ethics
All club members and coin show dealers and attendees are expected to abide by a sensible code of ethics intended to protect the numismatic community from fraudulent activity. This includes, but is not limited to:- Abide by the Constitution and Bylaws of the club
- Act in such a way that brings neither reproach nor discredit to the club, nor impair its reputation or the prestige of the general membership
- Refrain from buying or selling any numismatic item for which legal title is in question
- Contrary to popular opinion, ownership of counterfeit coins is legal, provided its spurious nature is indicated. No member shall exhibit, sell, or advertise spurious materialts except if explicitly specified as such, using clear language, i.e. "counterfeit", "replica", "reproduction", or "copy". See Chapter 48 of the 2009 Hobby Protection Act for more information.
- Give aid and reasonable advice to members in their quest for numismatic knowledge.
- Place welfare of Tallahassee Numismatic Club above any personal gain to myself.
